What is an equity plan?
What our clients say
“What I found most comforting was that this would allow all our employees, not just the executives or senior ones, an opportunity to have the option to make a major life decision.”
“Really awesome personal approach every step of the way. Great team!”
“It’s amazing that companies that give a huge amount of value [to their employees in the form] of stock options quite often don’t do a good job of explaining how it all works. Usually it’s like, ‘Hey, here’s a pool with sharks. Go swim, enjoy.”
“There is a DEEP hunger for this kind of service. Thank you so much for what you provide.”
“Finally, somebody who gets it for the small percentage of us who have pre-IPO equity.”
“The first time I exercised stock options, I got burned. The tax calculations can be so incredibly complicated. You've got to have a plan.”

We act in your best interest
We got our start to help educate startup employees on what to do with their equity, after our founders struggled with their own equity decisions, resulting in expensive mistakes. We’ve since experienced first-hand how our community has been underserved by wealth advisors who lack expertise in equity compensation, and often don’t relate to startup or tech employee’s goals and attitudes towards money. But you deserve better and we’re determined to deliver.
Our only goal is to help you make financial decisions that set you up for success. We don’t have a hidden agenda or hidden fees. We’re transparent, honest, and give you the facts. We practice the same values inside Secfi, and have a zero-tolerance policy for a**holes.
Our financial advisors do not sell financing products, insurance, or investment funds and do not accept commissions, or kickbacks of any kind. We believe these often opaque fee arrangements introduce conflicts of interest when we are working together to reach the same goal: your financial well-being. While Secfi does offer exercise financing, it may or may not be the right strategy for Secfi Wealth clients. Our advisors will guide you through different exercise approaches with an objective view of all potential options. If you decide that you want to explore Secfi Financing, you will be introduced to an Equity Strategist.
Our business entities have been set up to safeguard our client relationships and mitigate or prevent conflicts of interest. As a fiduciary advisor, we are required to act in the best interest of our clients, always. All our financial advisors carry the appropriate designations and adhere to the most stringent regulatory standards.
